Nepal Men's Rugby Team Set to Make History at Asian Games

Kathmandu: The men's rugby team set to compete in the 19th Asian Games, held in Hangzhou, China, has been officially announced. The selection process took place at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, where twelve players were chosen from a rigorous competition.

Govinda Ghimire, the General-Secretary of the Nepal Rugby Association, confirmed the team lineup.The selected players for the men's rugby team are as follows: Nabin Maharjan, Birat Shrestha, Pujan Phewali, Yadu Adhikari, Niroj Karki, Sabin Mahat, Jhukendra Rai, Bikram Puri, Bishal Badu, Bibesh Basu, Suman Chaulagain, and Shreeram Shrestha. Additionally, Bikram Bharati, Bikas Rana Magar, and Sujan Kumal have been named as reserve players for the team.

It is noteworthy that this will be Nepal's inaugural participation in the Rugby discipline at the Asian Games.

The highly anticipated event is scheduled to commence on September 23rd, providing a platform for athletes from across the continent to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.
